Why STEAM is the way of your child’s FUTURE

What is STEAM?

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics. Our MINDCAN, is a government recognised STEAM Institute which works to revolutionise the education system as it is today. Through accredited programs like robotics contests and STEAM focused after-school tutoring has made it’s marked as one of the best in the STEAM education market.

How would my child benefit from STEAM?

According to Dr Scott Sleap, ME Program Director and author of the NSW Stage 5 iSTEM Curriculum, “what separates STEM from traditional science and maths education is the blended learning environment and showing students how the scientific method can be applied to everyday life. It teaches students computational thinking and focuses on the real-world applications of problem solving. This is where Project-based Learning comes in, Edutopia describes PBL as: a dynamic classroom approach in which students actively explore real-world problems and challenges and acquire a deeper knowledge.”

“Science and innovation are recognized internationally as key for boosting productivity, creating more jobs, creating better jobs, enhancing competitiveness and growing an economy.”

Kookaburra, 2021

How would your STEAM programs engage my child?

If your child is aged between 4-18 years of age, they could strongly benefit from engaging in WER’s STEM programs. In a world taken over by social media, gaming, and mobile devices like iPads, iPods and iPhones, it is important for children to stay engaged with reality and to stimulate their minds through advanced educational programs. WER’S Mind-can STEAM Institute strives to engage students with computers and new technologies in a way that stimulates educational growth, learning, logical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities. Students will learn how to code, create and understand robotics, and work as a team to ultimately boost their knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics.
